Available teaching and support positions for the 2016 - 2017 school year include:

Office Assistant (10 month position)

  • Job Duties   
    • The Office Assistant is responsible for supporting the Office Manager.
    • These duties include but are not limited to:
    • Primary greeter to all parents, students, visitors, etc. who enter front office, communicate by phone or email, responding with a timely, pleasant, positive manner- promoting the favorable image of the school at all times.
    • Consistently exhibits professionalism and code of ethics in reference to private and confidential school information.
    • Intermediate experience with office applications (ex. word, excel, google sheets, and computer use).
    • Manage/serve daily lunches by maintaining an active volunteer schedule to assist during lunch. Maintain positive relationships with vendors and volunteers to keep lunches moving smoothly. Ability to count and secure money.
    • Manage the pantry during daily 10 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.
    • Assists in reorder of pantry inventory.
    • Maintain attendance daily in Powerschool system.
    • Maintaining online order system that allows parents to prepay lunches and pantry accounts.
    • Assists the office manager and other members of staff as requested.


    • 2 Year College degree minimum required
    • Experience in an office setting (preferably school front office)
    • Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, honesty, integrity
    • Positive attitude and understanding of customer service
    • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
    • Ability to lift up to 25 Lbs


  • Compensation and Benefits
    • Salary $22,000 - $28,000 to commesurate with experience
    • NC State Employee's Health Insurance
    • 403(b) with employee match up to 6%


Student Shadow

Our shadow teachers' duties are:

  • to help the student display appropriate classroom behavior
  • to provide guidance in completing classroom activities when necessary
  • to help the student achieve goals stated in his/her Personalized Educational Support Plan (PESP) by implementing agreed-upon accommodations for student
  • to perform regular data collection for the PESP team, and
  • to regularly update the parents, the case manager and the rest of PESP team on the student's progress

Compensation is $9 - $11 an hour, based on experience.  Workday is 8:15 - 3:45, following the academic calendared school days.
